This past weekend, Sibiu once again became the beating heart of community spirit, as thousands gathered for the annual International Marathon of Sibiu, held between May 24-25. As one of the largest fundraising sports events in Romania, the marathon brings together locals, companies, and volunteers to support meaningful projects. We, at LANCO, were proud to be part of it once again!
Running Together, no Matter the Distance
This year, 24 enthusiastic LANCO colleagues laced up their running shoes to take part in the races. While most joined the popular 5km Cros, two of our French colleagues participated in the more challenging 10km and 21km races, adding an international flair to our LANCO team effort.
Whether aiming to break personal records or just jogging for the joy of it, each LANCO runner brought their unique motivation to the event. And one thing united them all: the shared belief that even a small step can make a big difference when you're running for a cause.
A Tent with a Purpose
Beyond the races, LANCO was also present in Sibiu’s Large Square (Piața Mare), where we hosted a vibrant booth throughout the weekend. It was a space to connect with the community, and most importantly, support one of the projects close to our hearts.
Thanks to the energy around our booth, we were able to gather donations for the outdoor classroom project at the school in Tălmaciu. This initiative aims to create a fresh, open-air learning space for students, a cause that resonates deeply with our values of progress, education, and community development.
As the event wrapped up and the medals were handed out, we were proud of the spirit that carried us through. To everyone who ran beside us, stopped by our booth, or donated to our cause: thank you. Your support made this weekend unforgettable.
