AZF 29 Undergoes Snow Load Test in the Austrian Alps

In mid-April, LANCO's AZF 29 inflatable tent underwent a rigorous high-altitude test in the Austrian Alps, during a military exercise conducted by the Austrian Armed Forces. The field test took place at the Lizum military training area, Austria’s highest training area, situated at approximately 2,000 meters above sea level.

Our colleague, Udo Herlitze, was on-site to review AZF’s snow load resistance under real alpine conditions. The timing of the exercise aligned with the Austrian Army’s final drill for conscripts who began their service in October 2024, offering a perfect opportunity to test the tent in a demanding operational environment.

Exposed to wind, cold, and snow, the AZF 29 low pressure tent demonstrated the durability and reliability expected of LANCO shelters in mission-critical scenarios. Its role as a station hub during the final phase of the conscripts’ training highlights its adaptability in supporting mobile communications infrastructure.

Real-world testing in such challenging environments is crucial for continuous improvement, and for ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of modern defence operations.

This successful test reinforces the AZF 29’s capacity to perform in extreme conditions and strengthens LANCO’s commitment to providing robust, field-ready solutions to military forces worldwide.
