Baku Mine - Actions Innovations and Best Practices Conference took place last week in Baku where our partner, ANAMA, invited us to join. Our colleague presented the new prototype of the demining vest for women, designed together with Norwegian People’s Aid. Currently, more women than ever are participating in the demining activity.
This event brought together a wide range of practitioners, policymakers and international organizations working on mine action, discussing the challenges met along the way. Although great progress has been made in the past years, demining remains a major challenge for Azerbaijan. During the conference, an award ceremony was held to honour women deminers who dedicate their lives to saving others.
It’s always a pleasure to take part in such events, where new partnerships are made, to achieve a mine-free terrain/safer world.
